A 25-year veteran of the film and television industry, Gayle made her film directorial debut with GRANDFATHER’S BIRTHDAY.


She has produced and directed documentaries, television commercials, public service announcements, broadcast programs and corporate films and videos.


Among her other independent productions are:


  1. IF THERE WERE NO LUTHERANS...WOULD THERE STILL BE GREEN JELL-O®? a humorous 12-minute documentary about a wacky Minnesota reverend who changes his corner of the world one church sign at a time. The film has screened at more than 35 film festivals around the world.

  2. PRISONER 32,232, A short documentary on the life of Reidar Dittman, a former Norwegian resistance member who spent

  3. 15 months in the notorious Buchenwald concentration camp.

  4. The film has been awarded the best “Coming of Age in the 1940s” film by the Minnesota History Center’s Greatest Generation Moving Pictures Film Festival. It is also

  5. included as part of the permanent collection at the

  6. National Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.
